One month down

One month down, 8 or so months to go. This waiting thing is harder than it looks especially since we only waited about 3 days for Noah's referral. I have no skills or experience to know how I should act, feel and behave over the next three seasons. But I do know we already are in love with our daughter/little sister, although we don’t know who she is or if she is has even been conceived yet. We pray for Little O, her first mommy and daddy and her care givers everyday. We love her and long for the day when we will meet her. I know that God has a plan for our little girl and our family. His timing is perfect. So whether it’s 3 days or 12 months, I am ready and willing to wait on God’s timing.

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalm 139:13-16

Here’s to one month down! Hopefully, next month will go just as fast…

Brian and Jeeni came for a visit this weekend. We had a great time hanging out as a family. It was a little weird to have two nannies but Noah could not have been happier - nothing like a 4 to 1 ratio.

Indoor splash park on Saturday was a big hit. Noah is really become a great swimmer and I cannot wait for the summer when we can spend all day at the lake, especially now that I have Friday's off.
Church on Sunday was great. We went to this church and had some great worship and some really good coffee. The band sang an Avril Lavigne song "I'm With You" and that was a little weird but nothing to get crazy about. I get why they sang it but the whole, "I don't know who you are but I'm with you" was a disconnect b/c I do KNOW who God is and that is WHY I am with him. Whatever. I think Noah had fun in the children's church too.
Monday's playdate at Nana Nancy's house was well attended. Bryson (Noah's cousin), Diana's girls (Noah's second cousins), Jeeni, Brian and Nancy all were in attendance. The weather was better than we could have asked for. Noah even got a good nap in. A perfect day!
Noah with baby Maddy. He is always so serious when playing with little children. Really endears me to him.

Take a look at Poppy's new wagon - where can I get one of those. I think it is some sort of industrial cart converted into a wagon. Very cool.

Noah loves to hang out with Bryson...he is always learning new tricks from his older cousin :)

I think Jeeni really liked the break from the -20 degree weather and all the Chicago snow.
All in all it was a great weekend.

While Daddy is Away!!!

I know it is a little metro to paint Noah's toes but we had so much fun and we did choose a very masculine color. It was springtime in Charlotte today and we all got our sandles out. Check out Noah's ever so cute Army flip flops with blue toe nails. . . he makes me so proud!

Week in Pictures

That's right Noah is now sleeping in his big boy bed even for naps. He stays in bed until we come and give him permission to get out of bed too! Could we be any luckier?

Here is the very formal changing of the guard that the Young house. Jeeni and Joanna bring the leave of hotness in our house to a new level. Must be nice to be in your early 20's... well and your early 30's ;)
Poppy Doug is high on Noah's list of most favorite people. If Poppy is in the room, Noah is in his arms.

Joanna and Noah's 1st Rodeo was a big, big hit. We got to witness rodeo culture up close and personal. The bull riding event was Noah's all time favorite. Bryson has mini cowboy boots and they were so, so cute- pictured below.

This weekend, we treked up to Asheville, NC. The weather was perfect and we had fun exploring the Biltmore House, the Biltmore Winery and downtown Asheville. Joanna and I found some cheap (on sale) silver earrings in Asheville - so fun. Check out my new CAbi jeans in the picture below. I love, love, love them. I can say that next to my Joe's Jeans they are my favorite. So comfortable and yet my butt still looks like I have one. Doesn't get any better than that.

I'll sign off with another Noah video to keep his fans happy. He really is so strong.

Introducing .... Jeeni

Welcome to snowy Chicago Jeenifer! Our new Au Pair, Jeeni, arrived last Friday night. She is an engineering student from Medellin, Colombia. She decided to participate in the au pair program to improve her English skills and love on Noah - of course ;) We are super excited to start our new adventure with her, eat some wonderful food, learn some new Spanish words and just do life with Jeeni.

Last weekend was totally crazy. I picked up Jeeni Friday night. Joanna, Noah and I left for Charlotte Saturday morning but only after an early morning family breakfast at this yummy restaurant. Saturday afternoon we had our first house looker (no interest but realtor told us the house looks great). Sunday morning the three of us went to church with Nana Nancy and Poppy Doug....and then a real life rodeo (more to come on this). I was really looking forward to Monday by Sunday night.

Stay tuned for more pictures and rodeo details this weekend...
